Why a gas has no definite shape and no definite volume for 6 class gov?

gas does not have a definite shape but has a definite volume. it has no definite shape because there is a lot of vacant space between the gas molecules.

Why are liquid almost incompressible?

Yes. Gases are very compressible because there is a lot of empty space between the molecules. A liquid has almost no empty space between the molecules. When compressing a gas you are pushing the molecules closer together, getting rid of some of the empty space. Can't do that with liquids. Example 18grams of liquid ware will occupy 18 ml or 0.018 Liter of space (volume). Boil that same 18 grams of water and it will occupy about 24000 ml or 24 Liters of space because in the gas form the same number of molecules are farther apart with lots of empty space between them .

Why are gases are highly compressible?

Gases are compressible because of how the atoms are acting. In a gaseous state, the atoms have high energy and are spread far apart. This means there is a lot of free space into which atoms can be compacted.

When are molecules of a substance in motion?

Molecules of a substance are in constant motion. Whether you have a solid, liquid, or gas, the particles are moving (but the speed and amount they move differs). Particles of a solid move the least (they basically vibrate), particles of a liquid can flow around one another, and particles of a gas have a lot of space between them because they move in random, constant motions.

What happens to molecules when water is turning into gas?

All of the water molecules gain a lot of energy and eventually leave the liquid into the "air" as a gas. So basically they move fast enough to turn into a gas.

What does a molecule for solid liquid and gas look like?

In a solid, the molecules are very close and compact with very no space to move around. In a liquid the molecules have little space to move around, and in a gas, the molecules are very spaced out. The gas molecules move around a lot because they have so much space between and around them. Hope this helped..

What is the same and different between the spacing in molecules in solid and a gas?

solid is not spaced out a lot but a gas has a large gap in between molecules

Does gas compress easily?

Yes it does. Of the 3 common states of matter, the gas phase is the easiest to compress. This is because gas molecules are traveling very quickly and there is a lot of space between atoms, allowing room to compress.

Can be compress gas?

Yes. There is a lot of space between the gas atoms, so a gas can easily be compressed.

Why are gases easily compressed?

It is because gas is actually not very dense the particles are relavily far apart allowing it to be compressed

Why does gas take up a lot of space?

1st answer: It has a leak of attractionimproved answer: their molecules have very little attraction for one anotherThe little tiny molecules in the gas have lots of energy, and are whizzing around in side, lets say, a balloon. The molecules bounce of the inside of the balloon, forcing the rubber out. This is why balloons don't collapse after you have blown them up.The force of attraction between gas molecules is low, the density is also low.

Why air is compressed?

Because there is so much molecules that it can not get anymore in it like a balloon when u tie it u can squish it and it is compressed

Why can you compress a gas?

Gases can be compressed because each gas particle has relatively vast amounts of room between it and all other gas particles the majority of the time. Thus, compression, which is essentially forcing the gas particles closer together, has a great deal of space to reduce.

Explain why carbon dioxide can be compressed more than milk?

This has to do with how the molecules in the material are arranged. In a solid, everything is very close together and tightly packed. In fluids the molecules have a little more space to move and in a gas, the molecules have a lot of space because there's almost nothing to bump into. Milk is a liquid, and although there is some room, the molecules are too close together to keep pressing for very long. Carbon dioxide is a gas, it has a few molecules in very vast space, which means there is plenty of space to push, before the molecules "feel the heat".
