Your question leads me to believe you are replacing the whole system, so why would it be a concern? A completely new system, is a completely new system. Besides, I believe Payne is made by Carrier, just one of their off brands. Like YORK who makes Coleman and others.
The compressor, along with several other parts make up the ac system. The most common part to go bad and need replacing is the compressor.
If the system didn't blow a hose and you are only replacing the compressor, I would add 3 ounces of oil to the new compressor through the suction port and turn the comp by hand several revolutions to pump it through.
Not without converting the system to R-134a and replacing the compressor oil.
It is standard procedure to flush contamanated oil from system. if the compressor went bad . also the orfice tube.
You'd have to make sure that not contaminants or moisture gets into system. Best to replace accumulator/drier at the same time and have system evacuated prior to charging
The amount of oil charge required for an automotive AC system is specific to the car. There is not standard amount for all cars.
See a specialist. System needs to be purged, leak checked & Recharged.....
Sounds like the compressor is shot and it would be best to replace both. Unfortunately when the compressor goes bad it sends metal trash throughout the system. If you replace the compressor with out having the system flushed clean (which is almost impossible to do) the trash in the system will eventually destroy the new compressor.
take off compressor remove the following pieces and replace with new parts as there nay be metal particles in the system . accumulator , evaporator , orifice tube and high pressure hoses
Bad compressor? Air leak in system? Excessive vehicle weight?
Mechanical control system for an compressor?
To change the compressor on a system containing R-410A you must isolate the compressor then?
