Turn ignition key to on position do not start engine.

Ground the diagnostic test connector. It is a bright green, single terminal connector located in the engine compartment near the drivers side upper strut mount between the brake master cylinder and the fender. There is a yellow two cavity connector nearby.

The check engine light will flash the trouble codes in the typical way. You count the short flashes for the ones digit, count the long flashes (if there are any) for the tens digit.

Turn key off.

To reset trouble codes disconnect negative battery for at least 30 seconds.
