If you need a substitute for Fresno peppers, you can used jalapeno peepers. If those are not available, you can use Serrano peppers.

Yes, any pepper spray brand would be a substitute. Mace is just a brand name of pepper spray. There are other brands to pick from.

Cayenne pepper is not an ideal substitute for cumin. Cumin is a non-spicy spice. Cayenne pepper is ground-up pepper flakes, which are spicy.

I know, everywhere you look the substitute for green bell peppers is red or yellow bell peppers, and vice versa. Not very helpful if you don't like them or are allergic. It depends on what you are using them in. I use pimiento if color and flavor are needed, but I don't really like pimiento. Zucchini or fresh red onion in dips, broccoli in soups or stews. I'd like additional ideas myself!
