Is there a time that it is neccassary to kill someone?

there is never a neccassary time to kill now self defense if some one is coming at you to harm you then i think the right to self defend should aply now if you kill this person while trying to self defend then i believe there shouldn't be any charge depending on the the actions that took place and a full examantion was made of how it all started and ended

now if some one was doing harm to my children and i caught them then i would take the law in to my own hands you just don't mess with children never
