Sort of...it is traditional to say "itadakimasu" (sounds like EE-tuh-dah-kee-MOSS) before eating. It's not exactly grace--it sort of means "thank you" but the subject (who is being thanked) is ambiguous. Some people think it refers to the cook, others to god, others to everyone who had a hand in getting the food to your plate (farmers, supermarkets, god, cook, etc.). I think most people don't think about what it means. Also, after dinner you would say "go chiso sama deshita"--same thing, means literally something like "what a great meal" but is interpreted to mean more like "thanks for the food (whoever you have in mind)". This would generally be in lieu of asking to be excused for kids, but adults also say it.
