In general, the computer can tell you when a sensor has failed. Always run a computer diagnostic test before you rip into changing sensors.
check the wiring goig to the crank sensors and check and see if you can adjust the gap on the outside sensor maybe its not properly connected
Yes but the check engine light will be on.
What sensors? Be specific.
have the heater core checked out. it may have gone bad or there may be something clogging it Check your heater core, it could be bad, then check thermo sensors.
Check for fuel and check for spark before you start looking at sensors.
No
multimeter
There are sensors all over the engine that can turn the check engine light on.There are sensors all over the engine that can turn the check engine light on.
O_2 sensors can be checked by manually heating them with a blowtorch and measuring the electrical resistance at the leads. This method it not as accurate as the equipment that a dealership would be using, and it is not helpful without first determining would the resistance levels should be.
If the o2 sensor is not working, the computer will put out a code which will turn on your Check Engine light. The car/truck will not pass inspection without it being fixed. Anytime the check engine light is on, the mechanic will plug into the vehicle's computer and it will tell him the fault codes and what they mean so that he can fix them. So, if the check/service engine light is off, the oxygen sensor should be fine.
Infared sensors are not very pricey. If you need good price check out Ebay.
You can not reset your oxygen sensors. You can only replace them. To reset the check engine light you will have to get that done by a repair shop with a computor. If replacing the sensors does not repair the problem then check for a vacuum leak.
