Is there a way to remove the anti-theft system off a 2001 Chevy Malibu?

I was told by a Chevy dealer that it is built in and cannot be removed.

You can disable the anti - theft by getting to the ignition switch and cut the

anti - theft wire. Which in my case on a 2001 Malibu was a yellow wire in ignition bundle.

This wire must be cut while engine is running to fake out the computer that enables the signal to the fuel pump to allow flow to injectors at engine. I have read so many complaints about GM's anti theft problems by too many people and I certainly feel their pain, especially in their pocket books. That routine of turning key to on position and waiting 10 or so minutes gets to be a real pain after awhile. My yellow wire that I cut was routed down behind the radio to a single pole switch with wires attached and switch left in the open position ( same as wire being cut ). The anti-theft light remains on.
