no reset common for them to go bad.
no, but there is a relay or fuse for the fuel pump you can pull. there really is no way to "reset" a fuel pump. if it stops working it needs to be replaced, assuming the pump is the cause of the failure
If there is fuel in the tank and it is making it's way to the fuel pump, and the fuel pump will not pump fuel, the pump is obviously defective. Replace the fuel pump with a new one.
It's a safety device that " breaks " the electrical circuit to the electric fuel pump if your Explorer receives a substantial jolt , such as a collision or maybe hitting a really bad pothole . That way no power is flowing to the electric fuel pump and the fuel pump stops running until the switch is manually reset if there are no gas leaks
It's a safety device that " breaks " the electrical circuit to an electric fuel pump if the vehicle has been jarred enough from a collision or hitting a bad pothole That way no power is going to the electric fuel pump , and the pump doesn't keep pumping fuel until the switch is manually reset
There is no reset switch for the fuel pump in the Durango. That was a Ford thing as a result of the exploding Pinto fiasco of the '70's. There IS a relay in the fusebox located under the hood behind the battery. Try replacing that, or the actual fuse for the fuel pump. By the way, if the symptom you are trying to solve is excessive cranking to start the car, or no start at all, it is probably a bad fuel pump assembly. I have found the life expectancy of this part to be about 100k miles. This assembly contains the Fuel Pump, fuel level sending unit, fuel filter, and fuel pressure check valve. Search this WIKI for info on diagnosis and replacement.
It has an electric pump inside of the fuel tank.show the easy way to get to the fuel pump
The way I did it was to disconnect the wire connector and waited a few seconds and re-connected it.
It has an electric fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. You will have to REMOVE the fuel tank to service the pump. NO OTHER WAY.
Its not your fuel Pump that shows this its your sending unit which is attached to the fuel pump and located in the Gas tank. It could be a couple of things. One the float in the tank is stuck, the sending unit is defective or the wiring is loose or disconnected. Best way to test is to remove it from the tank. This will require removing the tank. If you cant do this take it to a garage.
The fuel pump is located in the Fuel tank.. the way to disconnect it would be to lower the tank and disconnect the connector.
There is no other way for the fuel to get into the engine.
yes i have a 91 bird and its working that way
