Is there any high Mountains beside Mount Everest in the World?

Mount Everest is one of a group of mountains known as the 'Eight Thousanders', so called because they are all over 8000 metres ( 26, 246 feet) high.

They are as follows

The first of the 8000 plus mountains to be climbed was Annapurna when Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal reached the summit on June 3rd 1950.

The first man to climb all 14 was Reinhold Messner when he reached the summit of Lhotse on the 16th October 1986.
