Mechanics and engineers may be issued steel toed boots, but regular combat boots are not steel toed, nor would you want to be using steel toed boots for day-to-day military duties.
Steel toe boots are made in the same way as non steel toe boots. The difference is that during the lasting process a steel toe is added. After the lasting process the shoes are ready to have the outsole attached to it. If the boots come with a steel mid plate, then these are added after the lasting and before adding the outsole.
Steel toed boots can get a little colder than other boots because of the steel that is located in them. How cold these boots get will feel different to each person. A person should wear some warm socks.
Well, you would use safety boots on a construction site to protect for damage to your feet (only if they are steel capped ones) You could wear them to work, obviously if you had a trade, probably not if you worked in an office or at a hospital lol. Or you could wear them everyday just because you like them, Hope this helps!
