The Bible mentions God's personal name, Jehovah, thousands of times. It was God himself who inspired Bible writers to use his name so prominently. One of these writers, the psalmist Asaph, wrote: "You, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18) David also wrote in a psalm: "Concerning the name of Jehovah our God we shall make mention."-Psalm 20:7.
The Bible shows that Jehovah God examines our heart to determine how we feel about his name. The psalmist said: "If we have forgotten the name of our God, . . . will not God himself search this out? For he is aware of the secrets of the heart." (Psalm 44:20, 21) The prophet Isaiah wrote: "Give thanks to Jehovah, you people! Call upon his name. Make known among the peoples his dealings. Make mention that his name is put on high."-Isaiah 12:4.
God himself said: "They will have to know that my name is Jehovah." (Jeremiah 16:21) On another occasion he declared: "I shall certainly sanctify my great name, which was being profaned among the nations, . . . and the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah." (Ezekiel 36:23) Some of these statements point to a time when Jehovah will act with anger toward those who show disrespect for his name.
Yes; the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is Jesus.
Jesus was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
it is aprpriate because it was a holy and god given name.
It never did change; the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is Jesus.
It is the name given to the Holy Father, the Bishop of Rome,
I am a main stream Christian and Pray to the God of the Holy Christian Bible. Specifically to God the Father, that is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I end my prayer in Jesus's Name as it was He who has given me the authority to pray to God the father and this was by His death and resurrection.
Why we could not call any maan holy father is because we have a Father and his name is GOD/JESUS. If we call any man our holy father than what did they do for us to help us in anyway? GOD/JESUS died for us on the cross to save us from our sins, so that is why we call God/JESUS our Holy Father.
It is customary in baptisms either by sprinkling or full immersion to conclude in the name of The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost in this manner. The person who is called of God and has authority from Jesus Christ to baptize, shall go down into the water with the person who has presented himself or herself for baptism, and shall say, calling him or her by name: Having been commissioned of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen
Baptism in Christian churches can be in the name of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) or in the name of Christ, depending on the denomination.
Most Denominations do believe in baptizing in the Name of the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost as Jesus Himself instructed.
It symbolises how Jesus died for them, and whilst they are underwater their sins are "washed away", which was the purpose of Jesus' death.
Answer: Yes, and not only the name of Jesus (the son) but "baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19b (NIV). The name of the father is, translated, Jehovah; the name of the son is Jesus; and the name of the Holy Spirit will be revealed when Jesus comes a second time. Whether christ will come in a flash or for 37 years, both are claimed, he will reveal the name we should pray to in the new age. For example: Old testament (age of the Father) you would pray in the name of Jehovah, in the New testament (age of the Son) you would pray in the name of Jesus, in the age of the Holy Spirit we would pray in his name Yes. Jesus is the only name we're commanded to be baptized in. It's the name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit: Matt 28:19 is fulfilled in Acts 2:38
