The Maximum Ride franchise will have at least two movies with James Patterson as the executive producer. The first movie, Maximum Ride, begins filming in October 2009 and will end filming at the end of December 2009. The film is slated for a Christmas 2010 release. The film is being primarily shot in Aspen, Co., Death Valley, Ca., Los Angeles, Ca., and New York City.
Kristen Bell is starring in the film as Maximum Ride, and the rest of the principal cast is being made up of undiscovered or unknown talent. Catherine Hardwick (from Twilight) is directing. The actors from the film made their first appearances at Comic Con 2009 in San Diego, CA. They will be featured on the book covers in the next printing release. The first film will end with what is actually the beginning of the second book. The second film will pick up where the first left off.
None of the cast members have been chosen...nor have their been any auditions yet. Look on some other websites for more information.

In the third Maximum Ride book, the exposition would include the background information on the characters, their abilities, and the ongoing conflict with the antagonists, the Erasers and the School. It sets up the story by establishing the setting and introducing any new elements that will be important to the plot.
