The question itself is slightly confusing, but here goes: If you mean the embryo implanted and then pain was felt, well it is hard to say, as you would need to know that the pain was the result of the embryo implanting itself which would realistically happen a few days later (after embryo transfer) and as a human, one would surely be guessing!

If however, you mean; was there any pain after the embryos were left inside - then I would have to say, for me, yes. The pain was unbearable and I could not move my legs. I remained in foetal position in bed all night on the day of my embryo transfer. My abdomen was swollen and I wasn't allowed to take any strong pain killers. I am convinced this is why my first cycle did not work. This and a few other contributing factors.

As I was in pain for most of the 'journey,' it would be hard for me to say if the worst pains I had that evening were solely down to the embryo transfer alone. Possibly the fertility drugs needed to be purer to make my system less reactive. I had too many follicles - 35. Borderline OHSS, but they continued my treatment. When I think back now; it should've been abandoned. They had no problems abandoning my 2nd cycle/go, as this time it was our money, not the NHSs.

Just wanted to post in response to this ^^

I have just had my embryos transfered back and I felt no pain at all. I think this poster was unlucky as the process should not be a painful one. I didn't even require any sedation but neither did I have OHSS. As for implantation pains, they say that you may feel twinges as your Uterus contracts when the embryos are put back in. The embryos should implant 5 - 7 days after fertilization.

Another response from me: I guess it varies from patient to patient. As the above shows some have a lot of pain and discomfort, some none at all. Same goes for the extraction of the eggs, it was slightly uncomfortable for me yet the other two women being there at the same time were in so much pain they had requested a mild morphine drip to take the edge off. The transfer itsself is SAID by experts not to cause much discomfort, and it would seem more likely women experiencing pain, cramps etc. do so more because of the ovary stimulating fertility drugs than the transfer or nesting of the embryo...

What side of the abdomen do you feel implantation pain?

I would suppose it depends on which side of the uterus the embryo implants on. For me, it occurred on the right side.

What does embryo implantation feel like?

Embryo implantation can sometimes feel like very mild period pain approx 7-10 days post ovulation it can be associated with some spotting. My son implanted 6 days past conception and I felt him implanting(cute). It is usually not felt though and it can occur at night when you're sleeping, remember though only 1 in 4 embryos will survive all this process so that's miracle of it all!

How much blood and how red is implantation blood and how soon does it happen then after implantation is it normal to experience some bearable pain?

Only approximately 1 in 3 women experience "implantation bleeding", which is no more than light spotting. There should be no pain involved since the implantation of the fertilized egg is in the accumulated blood lining in the uterus which has no nerves.

Can implantation cramps occur for three days and then stop you had cramps on your left side and lower back from 5 dpo to 7 dpo Now at 8 dpo and you still have slight cramping but no where near before?

Implantation pain usually starts 5 to 7 days past ovulation until your expected period. The bleeding, if you have any due to implantation, will usually appear in the same week your period is due. Implantation pain can take place in the back, uterus/cervix area and areas around it. This pain should be uncomfortable, which makes it noticeable, but should not cause you to pass out or keel over due to pain. It will feel like pulling, stretching and resemble your menstruation cramps. Although most women still experience pulling and stretching pain throughout their entire pregnancy, implantation pain is recorded to be off and on throughout your first two weeks of pregnancy. Just like each pregnancy, each female is different.

Can you have physical symptoms when implantation occurs?

Some people have reported a sharp pain in their side around the time of implantation. Others who chart their cycles have noticed that cervical fluid is more frequent, they get a pain in their ovaries (like ovulation pain) and period pains can occur just a few days after implantation too. Some women feel bloated and have tender breasts from the very beginning. There may be an aversion to some smells or tastes and some people get a metallic taste in their mouths.

Does egg implantation cause pain?

Yes, it can. Different women report different things, but some feel soreness, cramping, or pain that alerts them that an egg is implanting in the uterus.
