Founded by Eric & Leslie Ludy who are bestselling authors of some great books on God-centered relationships and the Christian life. It's all about Jesus and pursuing a life that is poured out for His glory. I disagree with Amelia on her last post. She only said it was a great Christian Gospel-centered program, because she used to work for Ellerslie. I sent my daughter to Ellerslie and she still hasn't recovered from the damage the school and leaders caused her. My daughter is not alone in this feeling, there are so many students, staff, interns who left Ellerslie feeling shunned and wounded. Eric and Leslie Ludy are the leaders of Ellerslie, and they are known as modern day cult leaders, and well known for persecuting other Christians. I would strongly recommend parents doing proper research before sending any young students to Ellerslie in Windsor, Colorado. There are now many support groups of families and students that are trying to heal from the persecution they recieved from the school of Ellerslie. So the Ellerslie in Windsor, Colorado is a cult. Now the Ellerslie in New Zealand I have heard wonderful reveiws about. Re: I'm sorry for you daughter's experience, I can't say much as I don't know the whole situation. However you made some pretty extravagant claims. A "cult" by definition is a group that is explicitly opposed to Biblical Christianity and the Gospel (in that they teach a false-Gospel by adding or taking away truth) and Ellerslie does NOT do that by any means. To say that would be outrageously false, no matter who you ask I do not think you can Biblically arrive at that conclusion. I was an intern there for a year and I am very aware that they have biases and weaknesses and I have my reasons for resigning from the ministry (there were some doctrinal reasons, but it wasn't anything unBiblical) , but they are brothers and sisters who are genuinely seeking to serve the Lord. And I speak to you also as my sister, bitterness and resentment also have no place in the church neither does slandering others by labeling them as something they are not. I understand you and your daughter were hurt and while it may be legitimate, but there are Biblical ways to deal with that. I encourage you to seek to do that. - Amelia
