there are three common ways:
- bad test
- bad dna
- bad interpretation
The first can easily be fixed with a second test.
The second is not so easy and requires a finding of what is the dna defect.
The third is the most common in that neither the DNA testing companies nor the court systems seem to understand DNA test results. Common thought today is that a 99.99 probability score means that "you are the father." All you need to do is watch TV or read the DNA testing company ads to hear that line of garbage.
Unfortunately, that is NOT what it means. What 99.99 POP means is that the tested male AND 1 in EVERY 1000 other men have that EXACT SAME DNA pattern. Hardly proof of paternity. What it proves is that the tested male is from the same gene pool as the father..not the father. Almost every DNA Paternity test today has the ability to "score" the tested potential father to 99.9999999. That fact is for some unknown reason always witheld from the man. BTW - 99.999999 means 1 in every 100,000,000 men have the same DNA pattern - a better indicator of paternity and easily reached on all of today's OTC DNA tests.
If you want the truth about DNA paternity testing, ask a scientist, not a lawyer, not a judge, not a DNA testing lab, and certainly NOT Maury.
By retesting and using blood sampling at a certified clinic.
Call a divorce lawyer right away. Depending on the state you live in, time is of the essence. In some states, you, the alleged father, will be required to pay child support on a child that isn't biologically yours unless you refute paternity in a timely fashion.
There is no 'score' on a paternity test. the man is either NOT the father or he could be.
There are several options for a paternity test. You can try www.gtldna.net for a home test.
This needs a lot more explaination
It takes like a day or so
Yes! Fathers can order a paternity test online and test just himself and the child. The results returned will tell him conclusively if he is the father in five to seven business days!
Yes! IDENTIGENE paternity tests are 100% accurate with probability of paternity for not excluded results are above 99%. IDENTIGENE is a highly accredited laboratory.
Yes, as they can take blood instead, which has less false negatives.
No way, man. Smoking weed does not alter your DNA, no matter how much you think you smoke.
I did a dna paternity test with a man that i thought was my father, i got the results and he was not my father my question is that if he had a bone marrow transplant will that change his blood type?
Absolutely! Its called a prenatal paternity test and it can be conducted after 8 weeks of pregnancy! This test can be done with the mother of the child and potential father of the child. This test is done with a simple blood test with the mother and a buccal test (cheek swab) with the potential father. Results are returned in 7 days from your lab. So, it is indeed possible to get a paternity test while you are pregnant.
If all the same samples and factors are used.
