females are small and males are big.

EDIT: Jellyfish are both male and female (uni-sexual, hermaphrodite or homosexual), meaning they each have the ability to release both sperm and eggs into the water for fertilization and reproduction. It has absolutely nothing to do with their size.

If a jellyfish would release both sperm and egg, they would fertilize their own eggs. There is a difference. Male jellyfish release sperm, and female jellyfish eggs.

Jellyfishes species are said to be unisexual (with masculine and feminine forms) or bisexual (called also hermaphrodite). When jellyfish are extracted from the main one, the offspring is born with homozygous alleles. Which means having two of same traits of the body. Homo=same. Jellyfish are confusing, because its hard to tell. They are both male and female

Yes, jellyfish can be asexual, although they are primarily sexual. They reproduce asexually by budding. A polyp (which cannot move) forms on their body or foot. The polyp eventually forms medusae through more asexual reproduction, which are free swimming and eventually grow into adult jellyfish. Jellyfish which do this are often bottom dwelling. .....=) Mr mally's class is the sh!t if u are reading this
