energy is defined as the capacity to do work. we say that mass is energy. but, not common day stuff there. so, energy is typically referred to as any motion of molecules. so, yes, there is energy on Mercury. since it's closer to the sun, it's got much much more solar energy... for example.

Why is mercury poor at sharing electrons?

Mercury has 80 electrons distributed in 6 energy levels,; namely:First Energy Level: 2Second Energy Level: 8Third Energy Level: 18Fourth Energy Level: 32Fifth Energy Level: 18Sixth Energy Level: 2Accordingly, Mercury has on the outer shell 2 electrons to share with in any chemical reaction by an ionic bond.

What energy can be converted to what energy when mercury oxide is heated please help fast?

Metallic mercury has chemical potential energy, since it can combine with oxygen in an exothermic reaction, therefore, by driving out the oxygen with heat, you are converting heat energy to chemical potential energy.

How many electrons does Mercury have on all of its energy levels?

The electron configuration for mercury is this: 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 4s2 4p6 5s2 4d10 5p6 4f14 5d10 6s2 Mercury is element 80. That's its atomic number, and there are 80 protons in its nucleus. If a mercury atom is neutral, it will have 80 electrons about it, and the electrons will be arranged as outlined above.
