You can do many different styles of dance in a show. To dance in a show you will have to try out. But jazz, ballet, lyrical, tap, hip hop, and other styles of dance can be in a show.
hip hop came from ballet.
Hip hop encompasses a variety of dance styles that emerged alongside the music genre, with breakdancing (or b-boying) being one of the most recognized forms. Other popular styles include locking, popping, and krumping, each characterized by unique movements and techniques. These dance styles often emphasize improvisation, rhythm, and personal expression, making them integral to hip hop culture. Overall, hip hop dance reflects the vibrant energy and creativity of the movement.
The same concept of any dance type, to excerise, have fun, get famous etc.ect.. Its just some may not like the other styles around, so they go to hip hop

There is no particular height requirement to be a hip hop dancer. Other styles of dance, such as ballet, do have requirements or preferences.
If you were born to hip hop dance or street, break or body popping and you want to perform it , then it will come natural. If it doesn't come natural then try many other different unique styles of dance.

Hip-Hop and Ballet
Hip-hop as a genre includes many different forms of dance. Break dancing, locking, and popping are all considered forms of hip-hop. In addition, Jazz and Funk dancing derivatives may be included.
Frankly speaking yes. However, people have merged hip hop dance with different styles of dance such as ballet, modern, and lyrical that as a hip hop dancer, it has become hard to determine what "hip hop" is now. The way I see it, hip hop is divided into two segments: Old school and new school. Old school is whacking, locking, popping etc. It is pretty just you moving to the music, not too focused on choreography. New school is mostly what we see now in entertainment. It's choreography based and usually merged with other dance styles.
