Yes, there is. Super Smash Bros 4 was split into two games titled Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Super Smash Bros for Wii U. The 3DS version is only playable on the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U version is only for the Nintendo Wii U. The 3DS version was released in September and October 2014. The Wii U version was released in November and December of 2014

The 3DS version is playable in 3D with characters running at 60fps while other objects such as assist trophies running at 30fps. The Wii U version is in full HD of 1080p and running at 60fps.

Both versions of the game are similar but have different elements. The roster is exactly the same for both versions but stages are different as well as some additional features. Most notably, Super Smash Bros for Wii U can allow up to 8 player simultaneously while the 3DS version is still limited to 4 players.
