Technically. there is already a sequel. It is the original game METAL GEAR. But I do suspect that something relatable to MGS: PW will be in the future.
There already is a 1998 called Metal Gear Solid which is based of the stealth video game series. In 2012, there will be a sequel to that movie.

There has been no confirmation of a Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 remake. They are playable on Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in the Metal Gear Solid 3 portion, but thats the only thing that would be considered a remake right now.
A sequel has yet to be announced for The Vampire's Assistant movie, therefore at the moment there is not going to be a sequel.
As of 2013, there are no plans to release Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the Xbox 360. Metal Gear Solid 4has been announced as part of the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection on PlayStation 3. Given that the next generation of video game consoles will soon be announced, it is unlikely that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be adapted for the Xbox 360 system.
