Much more gold has been found in recent years than was found in the Gold rush of 1849.

Mostly because of modern mining methods not available to the miners in 1849 (such as heap leaching.)

I read in a mining magazine that more Gold was found in 1994 than any year in this country's history.

Did the klondike gold rush involve more people than the California gold rush?

No, the Klondike Gold Rush involved fewer people than the California Gold Rush. The California Gold Rush, which began in 1848, attracted about 300,000 prospectors, while the Klondike Gold Rush in the late 1890s drew around 100,000 people. The scale and timing of the two events, along with the more remote location of the Klondike, contributed to the difference in the number of participants.

How many people mined gold in the gold rush?

It depends on what time of the gold rush. In the Early Gold rush, not many people were settled there so there were mounds of gold everywhere and were very easy to spot. Later in the gold rush, the news of gold spread quickly and more and more people migrate to the west to claim their riches. As more people came mining for gold the harder it became to find gold and not much were left tofind. People mostly found little nuggets.
