Is there more proof for the Bible than there is for evolution?

The point of the question seems to be that only The Bible or science can be true, but not both, yet some say that both are true.

The evidence for evolution is overwhelming. Only a few days ago, a new species of hominid fossil has been announced - Australopithecus sediba. No matter where this species fits into our ancestry - direct ancestor, cousin, uncle or whatever - the two individuals were clearly not modern humans, nor were they apes. So, first of all, we have incontrovertible evidence that there were once other species of humans. And without writing a lengthy essay, there are now several known fossils of transitional species, showing that species really did evolve.

On the other hand, while some parts of the Bible are reasonably accurate historically, much of the Bible relies solely on faith. That part that bears most direct comparison to evolution is the story of creation. In fact there are really two stories of creation in the Book of Genesis - The Priestly account in Genesis 1:1-2:4a and the very different Yahwist account in Genesis 2:4b-2:25. As for the Priestly account, how many would really say that grass, herbs and trees grew before there was even a sun in the sky.
The early Church Father, Origen could not imagine biblical creation to be in any way true, and to quote him: (On First Principles, 3.1.1): Now what man of intelligence will believe that the first and the second and the third day, and the evening and the morning existed without the sun and moon and stars? And that the first day if we may so call it, was even without a heaven? And who is so silly as to believe that God, after the manner of a farmer, "planted a paradise eastward in Eden", and set in it a visible and palpable "tree of life", of such a sort that anyone who tasted its fruit with his bodily teeth would gain life: and again that one could partake of "good and evil" by masticating the fruit taken from the tree of that name? And when God is said to "walk in the paradise in the cool of the day" and Adam to hide himself behind a tree, I do not think anyone will doubt that these are figurative expressions which indicate certain mysteries through a semblance of history and not through actual events."
