Is there more than 37 playable characters in Super Smash Bros Brawl?

There is technically 35 characters.

But Samus can be two characters (power suit and Zero suit) this can be achieved three ways. 1) Use her final Smash and that power suit will be destroyed. 2) On the Gamecube or sideways Wii remote press up and down on the control pad and select her character. 3) on the Wii remote and nunchuk Combo press one and two at the same time and select her.

Not to mention Pokemon Trainer has 3 different Pokemon Charzard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle. Which get cycled on death or if the player chooses to change.

Zelda can also turn into Sheik.
