It is in some vehicles.
why would the lights and the horn stay on all the time just started when the battery was changed
Short to power in the horn circuit, relay stuck in the closed position, stuck horn switch.
If you're just adding a second horn that sounds at the same time as the original equipment horn - you will need to cut into the wire that leads to the original equipment horn in order to get power to the added one. Install the additional horn making sure it is securely grounded. Then, splice the power line to the new horn into the power wire to the existing horn. This will ensure that when the horn button is depressed, both horns will receive power simultaneously.
start by checking the fuse.. If that is ok then it will most likely be the button for the horn is not c9ontacting correctly or horn is faulty. The way a horn works is power runs to the button/activator and when you press that it makes contact with a grounded ring in the steering column. if all that loks okay then something may be wrong with the power source to the horn as probably it is not getting power.
check power to horn - no power to horn -check ground -no power to horn -check relay - no power to relay -check fuse inside car first thing -still no power to relay -check horn button -still no power - possible break in wire
More than likely a stuck horn relay.
Diagnose to determine the specific problem and go from there. Check your fuses and relays, check to see if power's getting to the horn, ensure that the ground hasn't been compromised... if all of those check out, then the horn itself probably needs to be replaced. If you don't have power going to the horn, check the horn switch itself for continuity and to make sure it's getting power to it.
There is no horn relay. The horn is powered by the TIPM (totaly integrated power module). check for power at the horn it self.
first check the horn relay, if that dosent work your horn switch is probably stuck try checking it!
It depends why it isn't working. You need to find where the power stops between the horn button to the horn. If power gets to the horn and it doesn't sound, it will probably need a horn.
I nhave a misubishi pajero 1999 all time I turn on the ignition switch the horn come on What can be the problem
Most horn buttons provide the ground to energize the horn relay. The horn relay when triggered sends power to the horn.
