Is there really a sea monster in the World of Warcraft sea?

yep unless you take a boat it will attack you. but don't get out of the boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the island will disappear if u swim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are sharks and a creature called Tethys in Theramore.

hmmm... my cousn said something about seeing a unique sea monster deep in the great sea and i think it WAS tethys, but i don't know for sure. he said it was huge and blue and everytime he went near it it one hitted him. he lies a lot, so one thing i don't believe he said was that Thrall went out of his building and killed the sea monster and he got 9 gold when he was only lv 7. he did go on a boat, though, and it did attack him just like what the upper answer says. it could have been a naga, but he said it was very big, and nagas are about the size of a grandfather clock, and i think are the only sea creatures that drop copper, silver, etc. Another thing that he said and i also don't believe was that when the monster died, there was a quest item as its loot. I looked up what the quest was for, and it said it can only be done on the alliance when he was an orc. i also don't believe how he managed to swim all the way to where the creature was. He said its level was a skeleton. Who is this monster, and should i believe him?
