Yes people who commit suicide can be saved for all eternity. It matters that the person was a true believer prior to ending his or her own life. Even King Saul committed suicide and he went to heaven. A person who does not believe Jesus is the Son of God will have to face God and deal with the matter then. As someone else said, It is up to God. Answered by a protestant theologian. The Catholics do not believe this view point.

One school of thought is that God has infinite mercy, and would certainly take into account the pressures that might drive someone to commit the ultimate sin; that of giving up on themselves and God.
Another school of thought is that it is not God that makes the decision, it is ourselves, because judgment day is our own judgment of our own life. The way I heard it said is that, "In the final analysis, we either say to God 'Thy will be done', or God says to us 'Thy will be done'". Personally, I would not want to be in the latter category.

The orthodox church see's suicide as a sin as it is against God's will to take your own life. This is down to the belief that God created a persons life and thus, is the only one who has the right to end it. By committing suicide, the church see's you as having committed a major sin. Even if you have "wiped the slate clean" so to speak, of all sins before you commit suicide you have no chance of salvation as you have committed another sin by taking your own life. If that makes any sense.
