Brisbane is a city with suburbs, not towns. It is also surrounded by smaller cities, including Redlands and Ipswich.
Vancouver is located on the west coast of the province of British Columbia. The major island west of the mainland is Vancouver Island. However, there are many smaller islands located between Vancouver Island and the mainland such as Gabriola, Salt Spring, Galiano, and Texada Islands.
George Vancouver was explored and charted the Pacific coast of North America, including that of Oregon. In addition to Vancouver, B.C. and Vancouver Island, there is a smaller city named after him in southern Washington State, directly across the Columbia river from Portland, Oregon.

Driving from Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON includes many stops along the way. Heading from West to East, you could stop in the Okanagan towns of Kelowna and Kamloops, then onto Banff, Calgary and Lethbridge in Alberta, Regina in Saskatchewan, Winnipeg in Manitoba, Thunderbay in Ontario, and a whole lot of other cities and towns along the way.
