No. That's an impossible date. You might simply have a coin that's been damaged. If it looks like a regular nickel, the only ones from the 1940s that have any serious value are the "war nickels" from 1942-45, identified by a large mint mark letter over Monticello on the back.
Nickels with those dates are unusual in that they don't contain any of the metal with that name. It was replaced by silver and manganese to free up nickel for the war effort. The price of silver is now so high that these coins sell for about $1.
