The thermostat on a Daihatsu Rocky is located in the engine compartment. It is on the top part of the engine.
The larger part with the spring on it goes towards (in to) the engine.
Locate the top radiator hose, find where it connects to the engine,there is a housing that the hose connects to. Inside the houseing is the thermostat, pay particular attention to the direction the thermostat is place in the intake side of it. Then reverse the procedure. The part is inexpensive.

You usually have to cut out the part of the motorcycle frame that connects to the engine, then weld that to the go kart frame.
The hose coming from the thermostat housing connects to the upper part of the radiator and allows coolant to flow into the engine...
