If it was used to fill an object it could break it. This feature was used in early mining. It also generates heat on setting and this should be taken into account when a large mass of it is poured. Lately it has been shown that in landfill it may breakdown and release sulfur dioxide which has an unpleasant smell

The speed at which anything dries is dependant on the surrounding environment, temperature, air circulation & humidity would all influence the time taken, also the quantity & surface are of the object made from plaster of Paris
