As a musician, the tuba has some very fun points, particularly the opportunity to be the counter-melody. The tuba is the lowest pitched instrument in most orchestras, which can also be fun to play. However, the tuba (as the lowest instrument) is generally scored as the metronome for school groups (middle school and high school concert band), which can get fairly boring.
