I too have reservations as my granddaughter has already handed over £95 and signed a form to say that it is unrefundable. This is for a photo shoot for a portfolio and will cost another £100 for photos downloaded onto a USB. This sounds a bit iffy to me and can find no website under UKfMM or 101 Studios both of No 18 Great Portland St, London. any more info would be very welcome before she sends good money after bad. These people play with the emotions and hopes of the young and if bogus should be stopped. If genuine then surely they will be easier track down. Originally advertised on Gumtree.

∙ 11y agoI believe UKfMM commercial casting and model management is a scam, because they place adverts on gumtree for modelling jobs to entice people in which do not exist and then put young people under pressure to have a portfolio taken, for which they extract money by saying that they need this portfolio in order to foward onto clients for modelling jobs.
If they are agents to represent people, for which they take a commission, then they are operating as an employment agency. As an employment agency, they must be licensed as one for which they are not.
They are not even registered with AMA (Association of Model Agents) for which they should be if they are agents and take a commission.
They simply play on peoples dreams! Not Good. BEWARE!
They particularly play on students enticing them to paid work, knowing they are vunerable. Students please do not part with your money with a false promise of recuperating the expense for portfolio pictures from them with your first job that they make you believe that they will get for you.

I am from Italy, I have been signed up with ukfmm for the past 4 months now, i had a few castings already and managed to get the job. I didn't pay any registration or contract fees, they only took commissions on my payments, it is a really good agency, professional and friendly. They recommended me some freelance photographer, i did my portfolio with one of them and im really pleased with the result. It took a bit of time before the first casting, which is normal. I have joined other agencies which is giving me more opportunities. If you have the chance to sign up with them, go for it, you will not be dissapointed.
