If you love it, no; just exciting. It can be hard to learn any instrument. Violin is no different than piano. It takes time.
Having said that, it is always easier to pick up an instrument such as the violin if one already has a background in piano. It gives one a better sense of how to determine the correct notes by pitch, which are not "written down" in any one place on the violin. You need to be able to hear where the correct notes are, and many people cannot do tht when they first learn the violin. However, it's always easy to tell when you play a wrong note on the piano.

On the contrary, I think playing the piano is much more difficult than playing the violin. Now that is just me. I first picked up a violin at age three, and I have been playing ever since! I am not very good at piano. Your hands are doing separate things, now it's true you do the same thing with a violin when you use your fingers to hold the notes and your bow to play them, but it is not the same. My friend Lydia thinks the very opposite, that piano is easy, and violin is hard. So, what I think is, it all depends on the person. Everyone is different and everyone will have a different experience.
That is an opinion. With a lot of training a violin can be played, but like every art it shows feeling. So Yes and No.. Depends on what you think. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's true.. I play violin... for some people it gets easier as the songs get harder and for some people it's just easy at the beginning. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. Of course, there are a multiple levels of songs so when you start, you start with easy songs and keep getting harder!
no not if you know how to play it! i am 12 and i know, it only took me a few days to learn, course i learned at school.
When you first start learning how to play the violin, it can be hard. Also, depending on how quick of a learner you are, the different positions and vibrato may be difficult.
The violin is extremely hard to play, no matter what stage you are in. It takes hours of practice each day. I love it though and you should totally try it. You have to have long fingers, strong shoulders, tough fingertips, great focus, you have to be a fast thinker, and you MUST have patience. The violin is very fun and challenging to play. If you meet the standards, I suggest the violin. But keep in mind, it is not nearly as easy as the piano or guitar. It has been said that it is the most challenging instrument to play if you are really good.
Also, if your finger is barely out of place, it will make the note sound out of tune, therefore making it a little more difficult.
piano is one of the more difficult interments to play; reason being, there are so many keys that each finger is 'responsible' for and you MUST have very good motor skills in your hands AND feet.
Human aptitude varies quite a bit. Some people find it easy to play the piano and some people find it to be extremely difficult. Most people have to work very hard, with a lot of practice, to develop any real skill at playing the piano. But some people pick it up much more easily.
The violin isn't one of the easiest instruments to master- it depends upon how proficient you want to be on it, but if you want to be able to play properly rather than just scrape out a few tunes Hillbilly-style, then you need a lot of patience and determination.
The main difficulty is that notes are produced by where you position your fingers on the strings like with a guitar, BUT whereas with a guitar you are looking down at the instrument and have a full view of what you are doing, the violin is held horizontally, so you're looking ALONG the bridge and it's much harder to gauge where to strike the right note. But there are harder instruments to play than the fiddle, so if you really want to be good at it, practice and hard work will pay off.
