Vistaril, (Hydroxyzine) is an antihistamine, used primarily for the treatment of itches and irritations, for the reduction of nausea, as a weak analgesic by itself and as an opioid potentiator (to allow smaller doses to be effective as painkillers). It is also used for the treatment of anxiety. It is not a benzodiazipine.

∙ 15y agoNO, Vistaril is an antihistamine and would not report as a benzodiazepine on any reliable test for commonly abused substances. In fact, Vistaril is one of the few prescription medicines for anxiety that is not commonly abused.
