Water is also used in another sense, as the medium in which the chemicals are dissolved for this reaction to occur.
Respiration, on the other hand, releases water and carbon dioxide into the air.

∙ 15y agoNo, water is not a product of photosynthesis. Water is a REACTANT of photosynthesis (at least in the simplified version): : 6 CO2(g) + 6 H2O(l) + photons → C6H12O6(aq) + 6 O2(g) Water is used in photosynthesis. It is broken down and the released oxygen (O2) comes from the water.
