Boiling makes temporary hard water become soft water. Temporary hard water contains the compound calcium hydrogencarbonate. When temporary hard water is heated it breaks down to form insoluble calcium carbonate. This is the white scale, or fur you see on the inside of kettles. Using heat to break down a substance is called thermal decomposition.
All the calcium hydrogencarbonate has been removed from the water, so it is now soft water. A word equation for the thermal decomposition of temporary hard water is:
calcium hydrogencarbonate = calcium carbonate + carbon dioxide + water
Acetic acid is added to the solution, but the pH of the solution does not change. Sodium hydroxide, a base, is added to the solution, but the pH of the solution does not change.
Sodium carbonate is added to increase the pH of the solution.

MESSAGE BEGINNING . ENTRY: YELLOWCAKE . REQUESTED: REFINEMENT FROM ORE . Carnotite is mined and treated with hydrochloric acid. The acidic aqueous layer is treated with a 10.5% solution of sodium hypochlorite to generate chlorine gas, and is then brought back to a pH of 0 with hydrochloric acid. Ammonium hydroxide is added and the solution filtered. The insoluble precipitate is put in a sodium carbonate solution and heated and once again filtered. The filtrate is brought to a pH of 3 with hydrochloric acid and then treated with hydrogen peroxide. The solution is filtered and the precipitate dried. Obtained is uranyl peroxide, a form of yellowcake as the precipitate from the last filtration. . MESSAGE END
tap water is sediment filtered then treated with chlorine. then additives like fluorine and tryoline are added. bottled water is usually mechanically filtered then minerals are re-added for flavor.
There are different ways to separate a mixture including chromatography, filtration, distillation, sublimation, solvent extraction.
Double boiled linseed oil contains extra chemical additives that boiled linseed oil does not have. These chemical are added to help with the drying process.
sodium hydroxide, a base, is added to the solution, but the pH of the solution does not change.
Rock salt is ground, dissolved in water, the solution is filtered and this solution is refined by successivelyprocesses of crystallization/recrystallization, to obtain sodium chloride (table salt) 99,99 %; and finally this salt is iodized and some anticaking substances are added.
ammonia solution is added during the preparation of EDTA solution to increase the rate of dissolution of its disodium salt.
supersatureated
Starts off as Calcium Carbonate , when heated the calcium carbonate becomes Calcium Oxide + Carbon Dioxide, the Calcium Oxide then reacts with water to produce Calcium Hydroxide and then when more water is added then filtered it becomes Calcium Hydroxide Solution, C02 is then added to form Calcium Carbonate again [:
There were three temporary months added to the year 46 BC because Caesar wanted to return the months to their normal seasons
Solution provided the solution is not saturated.
It will dissolve in the solution.
