Steam is water!
fire heating the water stored into the boiler
Heat from the nuclear reaction changes water to steam.
Geothermal energy can be stored in batteries, like all other electrical energy. There is no reason why geothermal energy has to be stored, as it can be produced round the clock, unlike wind and solar.A:The energy is stored in the form of dry steam which is water vapor with out water droplets, wet steam which is a mixture of water vapor and water droplets, and hot water trapped in fractured or porous rock.
Steam engines use fire to heat water turning it to steam & powering the locomotive. The water, as steam, is used up & needs to be replaced every few miles, depending on the size of the engine using it. The water was stored in the tower being transferred to the tender as and when needed.
water loses it's most heat because the stored in the water gets out in steam.
Only nuclear-powered boats generate steam for propulsion, electrical, and potable water conversion. The heat from the reactor flashes water into steam; the pressurized steam is then channeled toward a set of turbine generators, which provide electricity and are also connected to main engines for propulsion. Sea water is also desalinated using the the steam (condensed for various crew/boat uses) and stored as potable water for drinking/bathing, or de-ionized water for making oxygen.
It is easy to prepare distilled water at home. Simply fill a large pot with water and place a collection container inside the pot. As the water boils, the steam is collected inside the collection container. This collected steam is distilled water and it should be stored in a sterile container.
Steam is typically considered a form of thermal energy, as it is a vaporized form of water with high heat energy. However, if steam is used to power a turbine or generator to produce electricity, it can be considered a form of mechanical energy that is derived from the chemical energy stored in the fuel that heated the water to produce the steam.

Geothermal energy comes from heat stored within the earth. This can involve pumping water deep into drilled holes to produce hot water or perhaps steam. This heat can be converted to other useful forms of energy to do work.
