Whey protein drinks are indeed great for muscle building. There doesn't seem to be any conclusive studies concluding that whey protein has adverse effects on the kidneys, however doctors do caution that extended long-term use could have a deteriorating effect on the kidneys.
Unless you have kidney damage, or massively over-consume protein, without fat, which is hard to do eating normal foods, then protein is perfectly safe to eat.

Kidney disorders can encompass a range of conditions and diseases that affect the kidneys. Some common kidney disorders include: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): A long-term condition where the kidneys do not function effectively, leading to a gradual loss of kidney function over time. Kidney Stones: Hard deposits of minerals and salts that can form in the kidneys and cause severe pain when they pass through the urinary tract. Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD): A genetic disorder characterized by the growth of numerous cysts in the kidneys, which can lead to kidney enlargement and reduced function. Acute Kidney Injury (AKI): A sudden and temporary loss of kidney function, often due to severe infections, dehydration, or certain medications. Glomerulonephritis: Inflammation of the glomeruli, the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys. This can be caused by infections or autoimmune diseases. Nephrotic Syndrome: A group of symptoms that indicate kidney damage, including the presence of high levels of protein in the urine, swelling, and high cholesterol. Diabetic Nephropathy: Kidney damage caused by diabetes, particularly in individuals with uncontrolled high blood sugar levels. Hematuria: The presence of blood in the urine, which can be a sign of various underlying kidney issues. Renal Tubular Acidosis (RTA): A condition where the kidneys are unable to effectively remove acids from the body, leading to metabolic imbalances. Hydronephrosis: Swelling of one or both kidneys due to a backup of urine, often caused by an obstruction in the urinary tract. Interstitial Nephritis: Inflammation of the spaces between kidney tubules, often associated with certain medications or infections. Alport Syndrome: A genetic disorder affecting the glomerular basement membrane in the kidneys.
I am donating one of my kidneys to a cousin in September 2008. I am 26 years old and am not done having children. I currently have a beautiful 9 month old daughter and can't wait to give her siblings but my cousins health took a turn and surgery has been set. My future childrens lives can wait, he can not. I am mentally having a hard time with the possibility I may never be pregnant again and would love someone to email me if they have had a baby on one kidney... Thanks Sarah Paulandsarah030405@yahoo.com
Because of the milk sugars in it, many champion bodybuilders do not drink milk. You do not ever need any dairy products to become big and strong. What you do need is protein. If you are training hard, it is best to each sufficient protein every three waking hours. Sufficient protein for a male is a minimum of 20 grams and 15 grams for a female. Get your protein from natural sources such as sockeye salmon, organic chicken eggs, and grass-fed beef or bison.
