No, it is not. If anything, it provides another point at which your data can be intercepted. WiFi passwords are not all that hard to hack. There are even illegal Wi-Fi devices that have a rather strong signal and have built-in brute force attack features. If you are not using the WiFi features of a modem or router, the best thing to do is disable that functionality.
