……. I am Yahweh (Jehovah)… Exodus 6:2,3

Jehovah is define; The LORD; God; Used by some

Bible translators for the name of the covenant God of

Israel. For example, in the King James Version you

Can fined the Divine name at Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18

And Isaiah 12:2 and 26:4. Alote of other Bible translator has remove Jehovah in these verses and substituted God's

Name with "the LORD" using all capital letters. But look good! Because the O, R, and D are small, but still capitalize.

In the Catholic Douay Version, which does not use God's name in its main text, says in its footnote to Exodus 6:3 "Some moderns have framed the name Jehovah…the true pronunciation of the name, which is in The Hebrew text by long disuse, is now quite lost."

But the Catholic bible here says. God's name does appear in the Hebrew text. But yes, it is not known exactly how it was pronounced, YHWH even though some scholars think "Yahweh" is correct. However, the form "Jehovah" has been in use for many centuries and is most widely known.

To help us to understand the problem, consider the word "building". Suppose that it began always to be written "bldg". And that, in time, the word was never pronounced. How, then would a person living 1,000 years from now know how to pronounced "bldg" when he saw it in writing? Since he had never heard it pronounced and did not know what the vowels were in the word, he would not know for sure. It is similar with God's name.

Yet, should we use God's name, even though we may not be saying it exactly the way it was originally pronounced? Well, we use the name of other persons in The Bible, even though we do not say them in the way the names were pronounced in the original Hebrew. For example, Jesus name is pronounced "Yesh'ua" in the Hebrew tongue. Likewise, it is proper to use God's name which is revealed in the Bible, whether we pronounce it "Yahweh", "Jehovah" or in some other way common in our language. For lord is only a title that many can use Example; 1King 18:7 "Is it really you, my lordElijah?"

The Hebrew word father in Hebrew is Av (dad = ABBA).

If you are talking about God's name, the letters of God's name are contained with in this word. These letters YHVH (or theoretically pronounced YHWH)…in Hebrew these letters are as follows…Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey. The vowels are lost in history, and Jewish custom and law is to never write or speak this name out loud.

In fact, any attempt to add vowels to this name would only be guess.

What divine trait distinguishes Yahweh from other gods?

Monotheism - the belief in one singular God - distinguishes Yahweh from other gods in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Followers of Yahweh believe He is the one true God, creator of the universe, who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present. This monotheistic belief sets Yahweh apart from polytheistic religions that worship multiple gods.

Is Yahweh the true god?

Yahweh (YHWH) appears to have been used by the early inhabitants of the southern kingdom of Judah as the name for their God. The early inhabitants of the northern kingdom of Israel appear to have used the name 'elohim for their God. It is not certain whether Yahweh and Elohim were perceived to be the same God at this stage, but that was certainly the case much later. It could be important in establishing whether the anthropomorphic God of Judah or the more transcendent God of Israel, who required obedience and was feared by his people, was the true God. There are two other alternatives. One is that the true god is a god of another religion, such as Hinduism, or even a pagan god. Another is that there is no true god.
