having experience being prescribed both of those drugs, I would have to say hydrocodone is roughly 1/4 to 1/3 as powerful as oxycodone 10/325's.
so, 5 or 6 of the regular 5/500 hydrocodones would be roughly equal in strength as 2-3 oxycodone (percocet) 10/325's.
good luck, coming from a person who suffers chronic pain.
i don't want to take opioids for the rest of my life, but at this point, it seems like my only
option to stay comfortable and active in my life.
it's commonly prescribed and fairly easy to obtain. it also provides a decent "high." hydrocodone has an analgesic potency equal to or greater than that of oral morphine. it's commonly prescribed and fairly easy to obtain. it also provides a decent "high." hydrocodone has an analgesic potency equal to or greater than that of oral morphine.
Significantly stronger. These drugs are not in the same class. Be sure to follow your doctor's instructions. You might get Tylenol III with codeine, but the oxycodone is stronger than the codeine.
Roxicodone 30 contains 30mg of oxycodone and is an instant release pill. OxyContin comes in various strengths and is time released over 12 hours. If you have a tolerance to 10mg hydrocodone, a 30mg Roxicodone pill would still be way too strong. Oxycodone is 1.5x stronger than hydrocodone to begin with so a Roxicodone 30mg pill would be equal to about 4 and a half of the pills you are taking now. Oxycontin is prescribed for chronic pain because useres only have to take 2 pills a day for all day pain relief.
Lorcet is a brand name drug consisting of 10 mg of hydrocodone and 650 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). As a generic it is normally written "hydrocodone/APAP 10/650." Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid with a potency equal to morphine. Hydrocodone is also found in several other combination drugs including Vicodin, Lortab, Norco, and Vicoprofen. Oxycodone is, like hydrocodone, a semi-synthetic opioid however it is considerably more potent. Oxycodone is found as a single preparation drug (OxyIR), as a combination drug (Percocet, Percodan), and as a controlled-release drug (OxyContin). Under US law Lorcet it a schedule III drug and all drugs containing oxycodone are placed in the more restrictive schedule II.
VERY weak. When considering analgesic potency, it is equal to about 2mg of hydrocodone. The MINIMUM dose of codeine usually prescribed is 30mg.
It just depends on how what dosage you are prescribed. If it is hydrocodone 5/325 then there is 325 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). If it is hydrocodone 5/500 then there is 500 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). The 5 is the milligrams of hydrocodone in the pill and the 10 is the milligram of the hydrocodone
Simplistically, 7.5 mg Hydrocodone should provide equal pain relief to 5mg Oxycodone but one must also consider whether there are other drugs such as aspirin or acetominophen included as these increase the pain relief provided by both these agents. Having said this, one also must consider that all drugs work slightly differently on different people and linear equations such as "this much of A equals that much of B" is only a comment that refers to the majority effect in a Bell curve.
No, both are analgesic.. but they're not "equivalent" in efficiency.. oxycodone, at the same dosage, is twice more powerful than morphine. 10 mg morphine = 5 mg oxycodone.
Three
The equianalgesic dosage of 2mg levorphanol taken by mouth is about 15mg of hydrocodone. So, levorphanol is about 8 times more potent than hydrocodone by weight.

While hydrocodone 7.5/350 whether it be in pill form or liquid form is the same, the amount of ml's of the liquid would be 5 ml's.
