My magazine, I have 2, plus my chamber is for 3 inch magnum. I have fire 3 inch #4 magnums in it for years without a single failure. I actually grab it for most of my hunting rather than my pump.
Answer, yes it can but DO NOT DO IT! lcj
the shell shouldn't fit. there's way too much interference
You can fire 2 and 3/4 inch shells in a shotgun chambered for 3 inch shells. There is no 3 and 3/4 inch shell made.
yes it will. the rating shotguns are chambered for is the maximum size shell you can shoot. i have a 1100 LT chambered for 3 inch and i shoot 2 3/4 inch shells out of it mostly.
well it depends on if its a 3 inch shell if its a 3 inch shell you might not be able to fit 3 in it unless you have cut the plug shorter
If you are refering to the Iver Johnson model excel shotgun, which was made from 1910-1935;then these shotguns were chambered in 2 3/4 inch shells.

Check the stamping in the barrel. The chambering will be stamped into the barrel along with the Winchester Logo, the model number and the choke. If the gun doesn't say 3" or "magnum load" shells on it, It was made before there was such a thing as 3" shells. It's chambered for the 2 1/2 inch shell. (A 2 3/4" shell actually only measures 2 1/2", that extra 1/4 inch is the length of the crimp when it's folded out. 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 are the same shell)
The Glenfield model 75C is a carbine variant of the Marlin model 60 produced for 1975 to 1992 by th m Mrlin Firearms Company under the name of Glenfield. Differences include shorter 18 inch barrel compared to the Marlin's 20. Length of pull on the Glenfield is shorter. The Glenfield also has a shorter and lower capacity magazine tube. The Glenfield hold 9 shots in the magazine, while current Marlins hold 15. Nearly all parts are interchangeable, and the Glenfield can be converted to modern full sized Marlin 60 specifications if desired.
