No. Despite the common claim that our sun is an average star, it is in fact brighter and hotter than most. That said, it is still relatively ordinary. The only thing we think may be uncommon about it is that one of its planets, Earth, has life, but that has more to do with the characteristics of the planet than it has to do with the sun, with its distance from the sun being the main factor.
