Answer . Check the following...........turn signal bulbs front and rear, and brake lights, probably a burned out bulb or a bad connection due to corrosion in the bulb socket, finally check the turn signal flasher, under the dashboard, if the bulbs turn out to be OK. To control corrosion in bulb s…ockets use a di-electric grease that seals the socket to bulb connection and repells water. ( Full Answer )
you have to take off the dash board panels. these screws will be over the radio, behind the ashtray, under dashboard over the gauges, and the last set will be on each side of the steering wheel. u can then see the 4 screws for the gauges and just remove screws, reach back and twist bulb out. i would… suggest changing all four at the same time because if one goes out they all will. i learned the hard way Is that the only thing not working? check your tail lights. you will still have brake lights but if you blew a fuse your running lights , tail lights and dash are all on the same fuse. mine kept blowing it was a bad ground by the alternator. It is possible that there is a problem with moisture causing ashort circuit if all the dash lights come on. It could also be afaulty relay or alternator.
I would guess around 8800 lbs. Mine (2001 NPR Diesel) weighed at 9200 lbs, with myself and some little stuff in the back, and whatever fuel was in the tank. I wrote it in the manual but don't have it with me to verify that number though.
The pedal clicks when it's down all the way, only hit that when you really need the acceleration. I burned a whole tank on it, and got a difference of about 2 MPG. If you look on the dash of the Isuzu you should see a switch with an E on it. The E stands for economy. When this switch is on the tr…ansmission shifts differently, delivering better fuel economy. Also with any car or truck. Keep the vehicle in good shape and service it regularly. A clogged air filter will cost you at the pump. You can also gain 2 to 3 mpg by doing some research on the tires. Buy tires with less rolling resistance and keep the properly inflated. Lastly if you are running a box style truck as opposed to a flatbed or utility body you can add an air dam on top of the cab to increase mpg. They are available on Ebay. I have a flatbed truck so I can't comment firsthand, but I see them in use on almost every semi truck on the road. Powerstroke57, All above is true I would like to add that the air dams that can be purchased and installed on top of the cab do indeed increase mpg of the box style trucks. I know this first hand because talking to the owner/operator of a company which my work does all their service work was saying to me that even thou the addition is costly at approx $700-1500 depending on application it's worth it and pays for them selves within a few months of installation. He had estamated his fleet of 20+ NPR's were getting 5-8 more mpg with the air dam installed!! Seems low but add up the savings for an entire fleet and it's worth it and the only addition to the vehicle that actually showed a big savings and increase in mpg. He had tryed many other things with out the numbers adding up. So it might look funny, might make the cab heavier but is a great investment in increasing mpg. Do it!! Another thing that wasn't noted above is to use your exhaust brake whenever possiable!! This will not only save on a little fuel but will also save your brakes too. ( Full Answer )
The fuel filter on a 2005 Isuzu NPR 6.0 Liter is located inside ofthe fuel tank. The filter can only be replaced if the fuel pumpsender assembly is replaced.
If you have an automatic you probably have a 450-43le transmission. If your tranny goes it it usually cheaper to replace it with a GM TH700-r4 There are adapter kits available. If you have a manual there are three choices in Isuzus MBP, MSB and MXA. You need to call a dealer with your VIN to be 100%… sure. ( Full Answer )
in the gas tank Powerstroke57: ahhh NO!!!! A 2001 NPR has a 4hei-sx mechanicalstyle injection pump. The fuel filter is located at the left(drivers side) rear area of engine. Tilt cab and you can see it.Its a cartridge spin-on style. If no diesel fuel is avaliable youcan prime with automatic tran…smission fluid. No they do not match. the 1999 uses and AISIN transmission and the 1995 uses a JATCO transmission.
they are the swivel points on the front axle, which allow the wheels to turn through an arc allowing the vehicle to turn, they are located at each end of the solid beam axle and the hub assemblies are attached to them.
Your nearest local commerical Isuzu dealership can provide that information for you. I found wiring diagrams in the Isuzu Body Builder page at http://www.isuzutruckservice.com/bodybuilder.php To find this, I googled Isuzu Truck, went to http://www.isuzucv.com and then followed body builder… link. The body build diagrams are not complete, but the do indicate the gosh darn "Hidden Fuse Box" that controls the reverse lights and the power window. See also http://www.technostation.com/user-guide-owners-manual/Isuzu/Isuzu+Elf I found a 2002 electrical manual, try googling for LGCEL-WE-9981LH.pdf ( Full Answer )
insufficient vacuum. The vacuum is part of the brake booster. First thing to check is a defective or leaking hose in the brake vacuum system.
A 1994 Isuzu NPR has the 4BD2 engine 4 cylinder turbo. Can also be found (as a Chevy W-4 Tiltmaster; same chassis and a lot of common parts as NPR) with a Chevy 5.7L engine and 4L80E transmission.
A 1997 NPR Gasoline uses an automatic 4 speed 4L80E General Motors Transmission.. A 1997 NPR Diesel uses a automatic 4 speed JATCO transmission. A 1997 NPR Diesel uses a manual transmission MXA5D
Drain out engine coolant. Remove grille. Remove heater core hoses(2, obviously). There are 2 bolts by those hoses you just removed,so you need to pull those. Remove dash panel. The air duct systemhas several screws that you need to remove. Start pulling the ductsystem out on the passenger side. On t…he back side (facingbulkhead) there are 2 screws by the blend door that hold the heatercore in place. Remove them and it slides right out. Reverseinstructions to re-install. Be sure to top off coolant and runsystem to check for leaks. ( Full Answer )
The green light in the instrument cluster means that the exhaust brake is on, which is a good thing if you drive mainly in the city. the exhaust brake allows you to elongate the life of your brake shoes or pad by using engine exhaust as a brake.
I have had this happen 4 times to me on one truck! What you have to do is send the drive-line out WITH THE PARK BRAKE DRUM ATTACHED as well and get it balanced. I sent just the d-line out for balancing and it happened again!!. So we sent the parking brake drum along with the d-line and haven't seen …truck sense. Trust me been their done that. Let me guess the engine is a gasoline powered 5.7L Chevy 350?? Ya it is! Hope this helps. Good luck. ( Full Answer )
The system uses the ECONO light on the dash to indicate aproblem. Normally, the ECONO light will come on once then goout. But if the computer recognizes a problem, it will flash the ECONO light sixteen times. ( www . atraonline . com /gears / 1998 / 1998-03 / 1998_03_57.pdf)
Lift the truck cab and look under the driver side by te engine if it's a gazoline truck it should be on the passenger side.
Most water enters the fuel tank via condensation. When temps are warm during the day, the heat builds up in the gas tank. When it cools off at night, water droplets accumulate. They will also accumulate between the day and night depending on the dew point. You can reduce the amount of water in your …fuel system by keeping your fuel tank full. ( Full Answer )
The Isuzu NPR is a light duty commercial truck. It is available with a 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine or an 8 cylinder gasoline engine depending on year of the vehicle.
yes 19.5 wheels and tires will fit in place of 16 inch you just can't put 16 inch in place of 19.5 like the nqr has nqr has bigger calipers up front rotors are also interchangable npr is just a little smaller but will bolt in place i own a nqr and a npr basically the same truck i have an npr rear en…d under my nqr ( Full Answer )
Isuzu NPR's use group 31 batteries- either top post or top stud depending on what you currently have in your truck.
On top of the dash under the little door with the lock. Use a key or coin to open it
I'm assuming this is a diesel. These engines have mechanical injection pumps and will continue to run indefinitely without "ignition being turned on" -- unlike gasoline engines which go off when power to the spark system is cut off. There is usually a grounding system connected to 'key on' whi…ch shuts off fuel to the injection pump when the key is turned fully off. I do not have wiring diagrams at hand, or immediate access to my 1999 NPR to check precisely how that is done on this truck, but I would check back to determine which component of the shutoff is dead or disabled. If there was a pre-existing issue with the truck not STARTING, particularly if there is some kind of anti-theft system acting on the fuel shutoff, and someone fixed that by disconnecting the shutoff, you may have an easier time determining where the problem is. You can always shut off the diesel engine by interrupting the flow of intake air -- I do NOT recommend you do this with your hand! -- and this should not cause any subsequent problems with restarting the engine again. in my 1997 npr you take the glove bow out and its to the left bolted to a piece of the dash frame.. hope this helped you
Truck will crank sometimes but will always turnover , done replaced disturber and cap , coil pack , and ignition wire harness, but u can roll off truck and will crank
Any marking on the piston ring goes UP towards the top of the piston. Only the first 2 will have any marks and I believe they have the letter N on them so have the letter N facing up when installing the rings. Good luck.
the location is on the left side of glove compartment, but you have to remove it to get threre
Weights differ somewhat depending on the chassis and body configuration. The quick answer (cited in the owner's manual) is that there is, or should be, a label on the cab (mine is driver's side rear of door opening) which has the dry weight and max GVW listed in both pounds and kilograms. Howe…ver, in some cases the weights given are for an unmodified cab/chassis, and installing a body will change things (usually resulting in lower effective rear load capacity). My understanding is that a good body manufacturer or installer will provide a replacement label with the 'true' weights -- this seems to have been done to my '99 NPR, but unfortunately some of the data on the replacement label have not held up well under wear... The engine symbol means you should check the engine, the oil symbolmeans that the oil pressure is off, the thermometer means that theengine is overheated, and the battery symbol means the generator ismalfunctioning. There are many other warning lights on the IsuzuNPR dashboard and a complete descrip…tion can be located in theownerÃ?s manual. ( Full Answer )
A wiring diagram can be found at this website:http://www.abcccodes.com/95-isuzu-npr-wiring-diagram/ forthe Isuzu NPR. The diagram can be downloaded as a PDF file.
Well the 5.2L is a great engine and sense it's release in late 04 I've experienced little issues with starting problems. When i have they were related to internal supply pump damage, rear timing gear damage, out of fuel, in 08 I've had issues with the oil pressure sensor (ecu reference on passenger …side engine block) wiring was not heat shielded correctly from exhaust manifold heat and would melt the wiring causing a short to power on the 5 volt reference which is also tied into the 5 volt reference of the Fuel pressure sensor causing the ecu to think common rail fuel pressure was 0psi and a no start situation, and if 3 or 4 (and sometimes 2) fuel injectors are not firing the engine will not start. As for cold starting aids like the glow plugs or glow plug controller not working is absolutely zero failures of those components my 10 years working on them. So that's basically what causes a no start on that model i'd start at these points. Hope this helps. Good luck. ( Full Answer )
Attached to the rear of the passengers side cab mud guard. I found it after a 30 min search but I need to know where the main fuse is, can you help with this.
It is in the dash, you have to pull the console cover for the radioand ashtray to acces it. once you do that it will be located about7 inches in just to the right. it is mounted to the metal dashsupports. It is a tight fit! It will help to have the flashers onso you can pin point the location "if it… is clicking that is" ( Full Answer )
Dexron 6 works for a 2005 Isuzu NPR. But PLEASE NOTE that for late 2007 and up, NQR and NPR ImportedTrucks come with a new type of automatic transmission that requiresan inexpensive silicone-based transmission fluid.. It is a must that you use a silicone-based fluid such asIsuzu SCS Automatic Tra…nsmission Fluid -- Isuzu part #2-90531-200-0. If you don't use the proper fluid, it willburn up your transmission in a matter of a day. You cannot useregular automatic transmission fluid or a petroleum based fluidlike Dexron in the NQR or NPR trucks built after late 2007. This fluid is not expensive at all, it costs about the same asDexron. ( Full Answer )
Could be an external cooling unit failing OR the transmissionfilter may need replaced and transmission fluid checked for metalshavings - a sign of a more urgent transmission failure.
Most recent inquirey is 20.5 L.......maybe. They hold 13.3qts filter dry......100% correct!! No maybes from this tech.
Disel engines on NPR with sheet metal valve cover takes one type oftool to install rear main seal , but if you have cast aluminumvalve cover is a different tool wich are very expensive , try torent the tool other wise will be very difficult to accomplish Ihope this help.
Set the key to "on" but do not start the car. After that, press andrelease the accelerator three times very quickly. The Change OilSoon light should flash for five seconds.
The ASR dash light is a brake assist system/acceleration slipregulation light. When this light comes on in the Isuzu NPR truck, the on board computer in the vehicle detected a malfunction in theacceleration slip regulation and the vehicle needs to be taken forservice.
for NPR max is 4 tons but i suggest you check PSI of the tires ifyou will load it more than 4 tons or better get a good tires thatcan withstand the load.
It depends on if it's a gas or diesel. If its gasoline then the 98 came with a TBI chevy 5.7L 350CID. Later on they went to multi-port fuel injection on the same 5.7L and in 2008 went to the bigger 6.0L gasoline engine. If it's an diesel then it will have a 4bd2-t and a 4bd2-tc (3.9L) then in 1998 t…o 2004 it was the 4hei-sx (4.8L) and 2004-present it is now the 4hk (5.2L). ( Full Answer )
Yes. There'll be the factory settings, which are put in place to protect the engine. Fleets may also govern the truck down (if this is a used truck) by changing the settings in the motor's ECM.
It is located up under the dash right next to the steering column in the cab. Open the door and you will find the brake fluid fill resivor on the very end of the dash. The door covers it when it is closed. Once you know where that is look under the dash and follow the brake fluid lines from the resi…vior to the master which is either on the left side of the steering column or the right depending on if it's a hydro-boost or vacuum booster style. Typically the NPR models have a vacuum booster and the larger GVW trucks like the NQR will run the hydro-boost due to the larger gross vehicle weight. Regardless the master is in the same area on both models. Hope this helps. Happy hunting and good luck. ( Full Answer )
Well I believe you are asking where is the flasher relay?? NPR's don't have a module like a vehicle control model, that would house and internal relay that would control the blinking of the emergency flashers. In the dash you have your switch to turn on the flashers and the relay is in the relay box… in the center of the dash. Can't miss it on the top center of dash their is a cover and with it removed you will find a series of relays. As for the location...... don't know. The ticking you would hear when they are normaly on would be coming from one of the relays in that box. ( Full Answer )
The abbreviation NPR does not stand for anything in particular, in an Isuzu. All it means is that the particular vehicle is part of the N-series from the manufacturer.
NPR is something that is used to show that the specific Isuzu is part of the N-series trucks. It does not have a specific meaning behind the abbreviation.
