Over 248 aircraft carriers were part of the Japanese armada that came to fight at Midway Islands and all of them were sunk. Many more ocean ships were part of their offense against the Midway Islands. This space is too small to list them all so I have attached a link that has many of the names and planes and amounts. Click on the link below.

Midway Island (in the Marshall Islands) was just what it was named- mid way to Asia & Japan from the United States. When the Allies conquered the Marshall islands, they had a base for war ships, air fields and other strategic points. This officially broke Japan's hold in the Pacific.
No ships of the Royal Navy took part in the Battle of Midway. It was fought entirely by the ships of the U. S. Pacific Fleet.

Nothing. Midway was the turning point in the war in the Pacific. Japan lost all hope for victory there.
The Battle of Midway.
Midway marked an important turning point in the war in the Pacific. Had the Japanese captured Midway and succeeded in destroying the carriers of the Pacific Fleet, Hawaii would have come under serious threat and the war possibly extended for months. With their loss at Midway, the threat to Hawaii was removed and Japan lost precious ships and highly-skilled aviators it could not easily replace.
