There is no prophecy that foretold the Messiah would come from Capernaum, but it was prophesied that He would come from Bethlehem.
Mat 2:4-6 LITV And having gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he [Herod] asked of them where the Christ was to be born. [v. 5] And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it has been written by the prophet, [v. 6] "And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, in no way are you least among the governors of Judah, for out of you shall come out One ruling, who shall shepherd My people Israel." (Mic. 5:2)
Mic 5:2 LITV And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me to become One ruling in Israel; and His goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.
JESUS was the messiah that was promised in the old testament. He was the fulfillment of old testament prophecy.
Galilee.Specifically, the town of Capernaum in Galilee.Matthew 4:12, 13 - Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,This was a fulfillment of prophecy, as Matthew reminds his readers in verses 14-16.For other references to the house in Capernaum to which Jesus and the disciples sometimes retired, see Mark 2:1 and 9:33.
In fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9
The prophecy: Numbers 24:17 - "I see Him but not now. I behold Him but not near. A Star will come out of Jacob, a Scepter out of Israel. Fulfillment of the prophecy: Luke 3: 23, 34 - "Jesus...the son of Jacob."
Capernaum was the town where Jesus' headquarters was located during His ministry in Galilee. It served as a central base for His teachings and miracles in the region.
Capernaum was the city in which Jesus and the disciples resided when not travelling. The miracle of healing on the centurion's servant, Peter's mother-in-law, and the paralytic occurred here as did the casting out of an unclean spirit. The association with Jesus was the reason the city was referred to as exalted. Within forty years of this prophecy of coming destruction, the city had been destroyed by the Romans.
It represents Jesus' fulfillment of all the Old Testament prophecies about Him. See related link below:

Capernaum
earth : D ANSWER: It appears by Matthew 9: and Mark 9: if you read what happens before Matthew is called that Jesus is in Capernaum (Jesus' own city was Capernaum during His ministry) Matthew (Levi) was a tax collector and probably lived at Capernaum by the Sea of Galilee.
Two cities in Galilee where Jesus ministered were Capernaum and Cana.
