Christians believed that Jesus was part of a new covenant between God and his followers. Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it (he still was an observant Jew). Christians found new ways to practice the faith that were not traditional Jewish practices, and were critical of some of the ways that the Law was being observed at the time.
The Old Testament is centered around the Law and is full of promises. The New Testament, with the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, is the fulfillment of those promises.
Jesus played a significant role in fulfilling the Old Testament law by embodying its teachings and fulfilling its prophecies. He taught about love, forgiveness, and salvation, and his sacrificial death on the cross is seen as the ultimate fulfillment of the law's requirements for atonement and redemption. Christians believe that through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus established a new covenant that supersedes the old law and offers salvation to all who believe in him.
Jesus was in the new testament and not the old testament.
The old testament is all what happened before the coming of Jesus, the new testament is after jesus came and died.
Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the Old Testament laws, but to fulfill them. He emphasized the importance of following the spirit of the law rather than just the letter of the law.
Jesus was a few years old after they returned to Nazareth from Egypt.
We do not have to follow the teachings of the old law because Jesus died to bring us the new covenant or the new deal. The Old Testament should not be discarded;however, because there is a lot of important info there. Fortunately though, the new covenant was in effect the minute Jesus arose from the grave.
Jesus is in the new testement but not in the old.
Jesus is only foun in the new testament :) Read a bible!
The new testament is focussed centrally around the life of Jesus.
When it is said that Jesus fulfilled the law, it means that he completed or satisfied the requirements of the Old Testament laws and prophecies. Christians believe that Jesus' life, death, and resurrection fulfilled the purpose and intent of the laws given in the Old Testament.
The story of Jesus' birth is part of the New Testament, specifically found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. The Old Testament contains prophecies that foretell the coming of the Messiah, who Christians believe to be Jesus.
