There is only one 'The Word' which is why it is written as 'The Word' and not 'a word'.
This Word was God and is God eternally.
It is this one and only true and living God that man is not only in the image of but to whom man will have to give account. Since man is in God's image, He will also have to account to God for what He does with himself.
