You cannot get a spark after a head gasket was done on Vauxhall Astra 2.2 because the battery discharged.
These days most, if not all, spark plugs come pre-set. If you get the right ones there is no need to check the gap, you just fit them.
Guess, £1500 plus. Depends if using genuine Gm parts, and why the gasket failed to start with, and if it is more than just a simple head gasket replacement. IN other words "I do not know how long your piece of string is."
The temperature sending unit on a 1600 Vauxhall Astra REG 2000 is on the backside of the motor. It is found just above the oil pan.

Washer bottle is situated under the bonnet just to the right of the bonnet release.

it just means it needs a service take it to the garage they will sort it for you
hubby just done an oil change on my s reg 1.6 astra and it took just under 4 ltrs put about 3 in and let it settle , check dipstick and top up if needed would be our advice , good luck lisa
If you open the bonnet, then look down behind the front bumper, it is normally right in the middle of the bumper just in front of the radiator
under the hand brake housing inside the car just pull the plastic cover between the gear lever and the hand brake and it is under that
